Indian young spinner Manav Suthar made a dream Test debut against Afghanistan in the only Test at Mullanpur, taking 3 wickets in 15.5 overs while conceding just 21 runs. He dismissed Abdul Malik, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Afsar Zazai, playing a key role in restricting Afghanistan’s batting lineup. His impressive spell immediately drew attention as India gained control in the match alongside Prasidh Krishna in the bowling attack.
Interestingly, his family, who had come to watch his debut at the stadium, returned home before the second day’s play due to personal belief and anxiety. His father, Jagdish Suthar, said Manav’s success is purely due to his hard work and credited coach Dheeraj Sharma for his development. Manav, who is a graduate and a big fan of Ravichandran Ashwin, has been passionate about cricket since the age of 6–7, and his debut performance (3 wickets for 21 runs in 15.5 overs) is being seen as a strong start to his international career.
