Young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has a special connection with Telugu states, as former India cricketer VVS Laxman revealed that the youngster first caught the BCCI's attention during the Quadrangular Series held in Vijayawada ahead of the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Representing India B, Vaibhav emerged as the tournament's highest run-scorer, showcasing the fearless batting style that has now made him one of India's brightest young talents. After struggling in the England series, he bounced back brilliantly against Zimbabwe and finished as the Player of the Series.
Praising the youngster, Laxman said Vaibhav displayed remarkable maturity during the third T20 by adapting to difficult pitch conditions instead of playing recklessly. He added that the teenager is learning with every match and constantly reviews his performances during practice sessions. Laxman also advised Vaibhav to focus on improving his fitness, recalling how he suffered an injury while attempting a catch but refused to leave the field, highlighting his passion and commitment to the team.
