Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy made strong remarks on Thursday against the proposed padayatra of YSR Congress Party chief and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Speaking in Srisailam, the MLA said that merely undertaking padayatras would not erase the “sins committed,” adding that those deeds would continue to follow Jagan wherever he goes. He questioned the need for a padayatra, asking what exactly the people were lacking that prompted such a move. He further stated that if their alliance secured 164 seats in the Assembly elections, it should be understood that even YSRCP cadre voted for them.
Budda Rajasekhar Reddy also questioned whether the proposed padayatra was meant for the public or merely for party workers and demanded clarity from Jagan. On the occasion of the final chargesheet being filed in the alleged adulterated ghee issue related to Tirumala Laddu, the MLA performed special prayers at the Srisailam temple. He said prayers were offered to Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba seeking forgiveness for the “sins committed by the previous government.” He further remarked that irregularities occurred in Tirumala due to high revenues but were absent in Srisailam by divine grace, adding that the conduct of YSRCP leaders reflects the nature of the present era. He said prayers were also offered seeking wisdom and transformation among YSRCP leaders.
