The Supreme Court of India has declined to directly intervene in the nomination rejection case of Meenakshi Natarajan. Hearing the matter, the bench observed that it cannot interfere at this stage and asked the petitioner to present any previous judgments where such intervention was permitted.
The court further stated that if a nomination is rejected, the appropriate course of action is to approach the Election Commission. The judges emphasized following due legal procedure instead of seeking immediate judicial intervention. The decision has sparked discussions in political circles regarding legal remedies in election-related disputes.
