Revanth Reddy has assured that sufficient funds will be allocated without delay for the completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Vakiti Srihari said after a meeting with the Chief Minister in Hyderabad. Ministers and Congress public representatives from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district participated in the discussion regarding pending irrigation projects.
The ministers strongly criticised BRS leaders for claiming that 90 percent of the project had already been completed. Vakiti Srihari questioned why the project was not finished during the BRS government’s ten-year tenure and termed the proposed ‘Palamuru Poru Yatra’ by BRS leaders as ironic. Jupally Krishna Rao alleged that despite spending nearly ₹25,000 crore on the project, the previous government failed to complete it and left Telangana burdened with massive debts.
