Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has urged people not to have any doubts or fears about the upcoming census and to provide their details honestly. He explained that the census is very important for the country’s development and future planning. Some people are spreading false information that sharing full details may stop welfare schemes, but he clearly stated that such claims are not true.
He assured that all information collected from citizens will be kept completely confidential. The data will only help the government understand the needs of different regions and plan better job opportunities and welfare programs. It will not be used to cut any benefits or schemes meant for the public.
The self-enumeration process will be available through an online portal until May 10. After that, from May 11 to June 9, officials will visit homes directly to collect the required details as part of the first phase. People are encouraged to cooperate and provide accurate information without hesitation.
