

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conducted a high-level review meeting on the Agriculture Department at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Sridhar Babu, Rajya Sabha MP V. Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, senior officials, and department heads. Discussions focused on boosting agricultural productivity, strengthening farmer support systems, and improving coordination among departments.
During the review, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the availability of seven varieties of fine rice seeds eligible for bonus incentives and provide them to farmers at subsidized rates. He instructed that seeds be made available through Rythu Vedikas and called for the collection of comprehensive data on farmers cultivating fine rice varieties. Revanth Reddy emphasized that the Agriculture Department must have complete information on crop cultivation and yield patterns across the state.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to increase the use of technology and Artificial Intelligence in agriculture. He suggested making the Agriculture University the nodal agency for technology-driven initiatives and directed Agriculture, Civil Supplies, and the University to work in coordination from seed distribution to procurement. He further instructed officials to reduce losses in MARKFED, strengthen OilFed, launch a fertilizer booking app, streamline urea distribution through Rythu Vedikas, and intensify efforts with the Centre to secure adequate fertilizer allocations for Telangana.
