CPI leader Koonamneni criticised both the Central and Telangana state governments for focusing on political blame games instead of addressing the drought situation and the difficulties faced by farmers. He said farmers were suffering severe losses due to crop damage, while the governments were limiting themselves to trading allegations against each other. He urged the authorities to move beyond political criticism and take immediate steps to provide relief to affected farmers.
Koonamneni demanded that the Central Government respond without delay and announce a drought relief package of ₹25,000 crore for Telangana. He stressed the need for urgent measures to ensure justice for farmers who had lost their crops and were facing financial difficulties. Telangana Rythu Sangham state leaders Bhagam Hemantha Rao, district leaders Dondapati Ramesh, Errababu and others participated in the visit.
