Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy Targets Farmhouse Politics

Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said the issue of farmhouses in Telangana had become a subject of political debate. Referring to the farmhouse of former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy in Aziz Nagar, Chamala made several allegations regarding the earlier MLAs’ poaching controversy and the drug case reported at the property in March. He alleged that the farmhouse falls under assigned land and the GO 111 area and questioned who had permitted its construction. He said Congress public representatives were conducting field visits to highlight what they described as issues surrounding farmhouses in the state.

Chamala also referred to the March raid at Rohith Reddy’s farmhouse by the Telangana police’s Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) and local police. According to police reports, 11 people were detained during the operation, and subsequent tests found six people positive for drug consumption. Police also reported the seizure of drugs, a firearm and other material. A Special Investigation Team was later constituted to probe the case.

Chamala further referred to the farmhouse related controversies involving K.T. Rama Rao and Raj Pakala and alleged that some farmhouses were being used as venues for drug and rave parties. These remain political allegations, and the relevant claims would need to be assessed against official investigation findings and legal proceedings. The investigation into the Moinabad farmhouse case has continued, with police questioning accused persons as part of the probe.

Chamala said the field visits were aimed at bringing the farmhouse-related issues before the public. He called for strict action against illegal activities and said farmhouses should not become venues for narcotics related gatherings. With political parties continuing to exchange allegations over the issue, further clarity is expected from official records and the ongoing investigation.
