Premier Energies, one of India’s top solar cell manufacturers, is shifting its massive solar project from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh, investing ₹1,700 crore in Naidupeta Industrial Park, Nellore. The new facility will house a 4 GW TOPCon solar PV cell unit and a 5 GW silicon ingot and wafer plant. The move highlights Andhra Pradesh’s business-friendly policies and fast execution. The AP government facilitated the relocation, quickly allotting 269 acres to the company. Proximity to seaports and industrial incentives are key reasons behind this shift.
The project is expected to create around 2,000 direct jobs, with many more indirect opportunities as the plant expands. Premier Energies plans to further expand production to 7 GW with an additional ₹502 crore investment. The integrated approach combining ingot, wafer, and cell production reflects efficiency and backward integration. This investment positions Andhra Pradesh as a major hub for solar manufacturing in India. Favorable policies and renewable energy focus make the state highly attractive to clean energy investors.
