Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has proposed hosting a World Economic Forum (WEF) follow-up meeting in Hyderabad every year during July or August. Speaking at the “Join the Rise” programme in Davos, he said annual follow-ups are essential as waiting an entire year for investment and business decisions is too long in today’s fast-paced global economy. The proposal received unanimous support from global business leaders and policymakers present at the event.
The Chief Minister highlighted the success of the recent Telangana Rising Global Summit held in Hyderabad, which attracted investments worth over ₹5.75 lakh crore. He stated that Hyderabad has emerged as a major hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and outlined plans to develop the city into India’s first 24-hour operational city. Key initiatives include Musi river rejuvenation, riverfront development, focus on the night-time economy, and the construction of the 30,000-acre Bharat Future City with over 50 percent green cover. The event also witnessed the launch of the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision Document, Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH), and the Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–2030. Actor Chiranjeevi was a special attraction at the event.
