

Under the Bio-Pharma Shakti Scheme, the Union Finance Minister announced an allocation of Rs. 10,000 crore over the next five years to combat chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure. The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and promote Healthy India programs across the country. Additionally, a mining corridor passing through Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala has been proposed to identify and extract rare minerals, with support requested from the respective state governments.
For Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), the budget earmarked Rs. 10,000 crore, including Rs. 2,000 crore dedicated to financial assistance for smaller businesses. A platform will also be established to address funding gaps for micro, small, and medium industries. In the transport sector, 20 new inland waterway routes will be developed over the next five years to enhance cargo movement. Training centers for youth will be set up to support waterway operations, further strengthening India’s logistics and trade infrastructure.
