

President Droupadi Murmu will visit Hyderabad for her winter stay from December 17 to 21, staying at the Rashtrapati Nilayam. In preparation for her five-day tour, Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao conducted a review meeting with senior officials at the BR Ambedkar Secretariat. He instructed all departments to work in full coordination to ensure smooth arrangements throughout the President’s visit.
The Chief Secretary directed the police department to make detailed security, traffic and deployment plans. The Fire Department has been asked to station fire tenders and manpower at key locations. The Health Department will keep medical teams available 24/7. Roads & Buildings officials will arrange barricading, repair roads, and ensure clean surroundings in coordination with GHMC. Uninterrupted power supply must be ensured, and a round-the-clock snake-catcher team will remain stationed at Rashtrapati Nilayam. GHMC was also asked to deploy teams to control monkey menace and take preventive measures against bee infestation.
Several top officials attended the review meeting, including DGP Shivadher Reddy, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, senior R&B, Home, Energy, Fire Services, Protocol and Police officials. With the President’s visit approaching, Hyderabad will see heightened security, strict movement regulations and special arrangements across key routes.
