The Supreme Court has stayed the interim orders issued earlier by the Telangana High Court regarding the increase in cinema ticket prices. The High Court had directed that if ticket prices were to be increased, the government must issue a Government Order at least 90 days before the film’s release.
Challenging this directive, production house Mythri Movie Makers approached the Supreme Court by filing a petition. A bench comprising Justice Maheshwari and Justice A. S. Chandrasekhar examined the matter and granted a stay on the High Court’s orders. The court also indicated that the existing procedure followed regarding ticket price revisions should continue for now.
