The High Court has ordered status quo on the demolitions at Ailapur Thanda, expressing dissatisfaction over carrying out such actions during holidays. The court questioned the urgency behind the demolitions and asked how authorities proceeded without issuing proper notices. Hearing a house motion petition filed by Gajja Rangarao and others, the judge directed officials to submit detailed responses and emphasized the need to follow due process in matters involving land and housing rights.
In a related observation, the High Court also instructed that fencing of government land must strictly adhere to rules. It warned authorities against erecting fences arbitrarily based solely on inclusion in a prohibited list. The court stated that no action should be taken without clear verification that the land belongs to the government. It directed officials to obtain a report from the district collector and adjourned the hearing for further consideration.
