The construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple has been officially completed, the temple construction committee announced on Friday. The project was completed at an estimated cost of around ₹1,800 crore, according to committee chairman Nripendra Misra. Although the construction responsibility was formally assigned in 2020, preparatory work had begun much earlier, he said. Despite facing legal hurdles and delays at various stages, the project has now been successfully completed.
Initially, the idol of Ram Lalla was placed in a temporary wooden structure. That area has now been declared a secure zone, where an eternal flame (Akhand Jyoti) has been established.
The completion of the temple is seen as the fulfillment of a long-standing aspiration of devotees.
