Shikhar Dhawan Begins a New Chapter with Sophie Shine

Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan married his long-time girlfriend Sophie Shine in a private ceremony on today. The couple had been dating for over a year and were first seen together during the Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai. Dhawan confirmed their relationship publicly in May 2025. Their engagement announcement on Instagram on 12 January had already sparked wedding expectations.

The couple celebrated their haldi ceremony on 20 February, with Sophie sharing photos online. Wedding pictures were later posted by fellow cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, who captioned them “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai”. Sophie Shine is an Irish product consultant currently working at Northern Trust Corporation. She studied Marketing and Management at the Limerick Institute of Technology and completed her earlier education in Ireland.

This is Dhawan’s second marriage. He separated from his former wife Aesha Mukherjee in October 2023, ending their 11-year marriage. While granting the divorce, a Delhi court noted that Dhawan had faced mental distress. The court gave him visitation rights and allowed video calls with his son Zoravar but did not grant permanent custody. Dhawan later stated that he was blocked from virtual contact with his son.
