The gold robbery incident at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple in Kerala in 2019 sparked intense debate across the country. Allegations surfaced that approximately 4.5 kilograms of gold ornaments and articles belonging to the temple had gone missing. The Kerala government formed a special investigation team to probe the incident, and the Enforcement Directorate also investigated the case. However, criticism continues that no concrete action has been taken against the culprits so far.
In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently made sensational remarks regarding this case. Modi clarified that as soon as a BJP government is formed in Kerala, the Sabarimala gold robbery case will be investigated with the highest priority, and the culprits will be sent to jail. He also stated that he would personally oversee the investigation. Political circles are speculating that the BJP is strongly raising the Sabarimala issue politically, and this matter could become crucial in garnering the support of Hindu voters in the upcoming elections.
