Political turmoil in Britain: Pressure on the Starmer government

The appointment of Mandelson, who faces allegations of ties to Epstein, as the US ambassador has become a major controversy in British politics. Despite Prime Minister Keir Starmer removing Mandelson from the position following intense criticism, the controversy has not subsided. At the same time, the resignation of the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, Morgan McSweeney, has further increased the pressure on the government.

With declining support from Labour Party MPs, Starmer is holding secret meetings with party leaders to try and resolve the situation.
