Andhra Pradesh Minister Kandula Durgesh has made an important announcement regarding the prestigious Nandi Awards, which are presented to artists from cinema, television and theatre. He said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given approval for the awards and confirmed that the Nandi Awards will be presented soon. The minister shared this update while speaking to the media in Rajahmundry.
Durgesh explained that the Nandi Awards for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 were last given in 2017 by the then TDP government and no awards were presented after that. He said the government has now decided to restart the awards. A final decision will be taken on whether to follow the old rules or make some changes to the process.
The minister also stated that suggestions will be taken from Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna regarding the awards. He added that the Nandi Awards ceremony is likely to be held within the next two to three months. Along with this, Nandi theatre festivals will also be organized.
