Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has heaped praise on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Modi is constantly working to provide the benefits of welfare schemes to the common man. He said that Modi has not taken a single day off in the last 25 years and that he is a very disciplined leader. Carney, who participated in a discussion held at the Lowy Institute in Australia, said that Modi has been continuously in public service since he took charge as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. He praised him for bringing crores of people into the integrated economy through economic reforms.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron over the phone. Both expressed concern over the rising tensions in West Asia. Modi believed that these issues should be resolved through diplomatic talks and peace should be restored in the region. He made it clear that India will support efforts to restore peace and stability in West Asia at the earliest.
