Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal visited the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala along with his family. After offering prayers, he received blessings from Vedic scholars and was honored by temple officials with prasadam and ceremonial offerings. Speaking to the media later, he encouraged people to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Marking World Environment Day, Goyal said he had planted a tree in his mother’s name and urged citizens, especially children, to plant and nurture trees in honor of their mothers. He also appreciated the AI-powered command and control systems implemented in Tirumala for crowd management and faster darshan, describing them as an effective initiative for improving devotees’ experience.
