A major security alert was triggered in Rajasthan ahead of Republic Day celebrations after police seized a huge quantity of explosives in Nagaur district. Acting on intelligence inputs, security agencies kept the area under surveillance for two days and conducted a targeted raid based on confirmed information. During the operation, police recovered nearly 10,000 kilograms of ammonium nitrate packed in 187 bags from an agricultural field.
Authorities suspect that the explosives were intended for planned attacks during Republic Day parade events. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, and preliminary investigations revealed that one of the accused reportedly has links with a terrorist organisation. Police stated that the timely operation helped avert a major conspiracy. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma appreciated the police for successfully preventing a potential threat and ensuring public safety.
