Valmiki Kshetram Pattabhi Ramalayam, the only ancient temple in the district with rich historical and spiritual significance, is currently grappling with several unresolved issues. Although the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) adopted the temple in 1997, devotees say there has been little progress in its development. Due to a severe shortage of staff, several ritual and arjitha sevas are not available to devotees, causing widespread disappointment. Despite repeated appeals to introduce at least weekly abhishekam services, there has been no response from the authorities.
Devotees also point out that traditional services such as the weekly Unjal Seva have been discontinued, while special rituals like Ashtottara Shata Kalashabhishekam, Hanuman Vahana procession, and annadanam programs—regularly conducted in other TTD-managed Ramalayams—are not implemented at Valmiki Kshetram. The lack of response from TTD officials to requests for organizing Sundara Kanda homam has further angered devotees. They strongly urge TTD to introduce arjitha sevas and revive spiritual activities at the temple, stating that citing low revenue as a reason to neglect religious services is unacceptable.
