Several historical sites and museums in Iran have suffered major damage following strikes by the United States and Israel. Many locations that preserve important artifacts related to Iran’s history and cultural heritage were affected. This information was revealed by Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
According to officials, around 56 museums and historical sites were damaged in the attacks. Even the famous Golestan Palace, which is listed as a world heritage site, has reportedly been partially damaged.
Meanwhile, UNESCO stated that the impact of the conflict was not limited to Iran. Some historical sites in Israel and Lebanon have also suffered damage. Experts say these incidents have caused serious concern for the protection of cultural heritage in the Middle East.
