Iran's retaliatory attacks are damaging Dubai's reputation as the safest city in the world. Iran has continued to launch missiles and drone attacks on US bases in the Gulf region in response to US and Israeli attacks. In this context, drone attacks on prominent areas in Dubai have forced the UAE to temporarily close its airspace. Thousands of passengers and tourists are stranded at Dubai Airport and facing difficulties.
Dubai is known as the safest financial and tourist hub in West Asia. However, doubts have increased over its security after the recent drone attacks on the Palm Jumeirah area and videos of smoke being seen near the Burj Khalifa went viral. UAE businessman Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor has written an open letter to US President Donald Trump questioning these developments. The UAE government is trying to bring the situation under control as foreigners, especially Indians, currently living in Dubai are expressing concerns about the future.
