Union Minister Jitendra Singh revealed in the Rajya Sabha that the Indian space sector is rapidly expanding and has now reached a value of ₹70,000 crore. He stated that ISRO has successfully launched 434 foreign satellites so far, generating approximately ₹4,800 crore in revenue for the country. He added that the demand for Indian space technology is increasing worldwide.
Furthermore, he mentioned that private sector investments in the space sector have increased significantly, and currently, 399 space startups are operating in the country. The Union Minister estimated that in the next 8 to 10 years, the Indian space economy is likely to grow four to five times, reaching ₹3.3 to ₹3.7 lakh crore.
