India has improved its position in the global passport rankings, securing the 75th spot in the latest report released by the Henley Passport Index. This marks a significant jump of 10 places from last year’s 85th rank. According to the latest index, Indian passport holders can travel to 56 countries without a prior visa, reflecting growing global mobility for Indian citizens.
However, this is not India’s highest-ever ranking, as it previously reached 71st place in 2006. In the latest list, Singapore retains the top position, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations. Japan and South Korea share the second position, while Sweden and United Arab Emirates rank third. France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland share the fourth position. Countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand also feature in the top ten.
