Under the Public Employment Order–1975, the Central Government has introduced amendments to the existing zonal regulations. In this regard, a gazette notification has been issued providing clarity on the cadre, zonal, and multi-zonal systems related to local status in direct recruitment.
According to the revised norms, the state’s 26 districts have been reorganized into a total of six zones. These six zones have further been grouped into two multi-zones. The government has also taken a key decision regarding the determination of local candidature. It has clarified that candidates who have studied continuously for seven years in a particular region will be considered local to that area.
Zone – 1: Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli
Zone – 2: Alluri Sitharama Raju, East Godavari, Kakinada, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema
Zone – 3: West Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Krishna
Zone – 4: Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore
Zone – 5: Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamayya, YSR Kadapa
Zone – 6: Nandyal, Anantapur, Kurnool, Sri Sathya Sai
Officials believe that these changes will bring greater clarity and transparency for local candidates in government job recruitment.
