Tirumala witnessed a heavy rush of devotees on Saturday, according to officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. All 31 compartments in the queue complex were filled with pilgrims waiting for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara. By midnight on Friday, a total of 66,855 devotees had offered prayers at the temple.
During the same period, 26,690 devotees offered their hair as a mark of devotion, while offerings in the temple hundi amounted to ₹3.82 crore. Devotees with time-slot tickets are receiving darshan as scheduled. However, those without darshan tickets are required to wait nearly 18 hours for the holy visit. Pilgrims holding special entry darshan tickets are able to have darshan within about three hours.
