Heavy rain lashed several parts of Telangana after midnight on Sunday, surprising residents across the northern districts. In Adilabad district, dark clouds gathered suddenly at night, followed by strong winds and a heavy downpour, bringing a sudden chill to the atmosphere. Rain was also reported in Nizamabad, Kamareddy and nearby regions.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rainfall occurred due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Officials predicted that the effect of this system would continue for the next two days, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall in north and central Telangana, accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Authorities advised people to stay alert, especially those living in low-lying areas and urged farmers to take necessary precautions to protect their crops from potential rain damage.
