The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued important directives regarding the sale and production of milk and dairy products. According to the new orders, all milk producers and vendors, except cooperative dairies, must obtain a valid FSSAI license to continue their operations. The decision has been taken to ensure strict implementation of food safety standards and to protect consumer health.
As part of this initiative, FSSAI has instructed all states to conduct a special drive to verify whether milk producers and vendors are complying with the licensing regulations. Authorities have also been directed to submit a progress report on the inspections every 15 days. Officials stated that the primary objective of these measures is to improve the quality and safety of milk and dairy products across the country.
