

A man has been arrested for posting obscene and abusive content against popular actress and anchor Anasuya Bharadwaj on social media. The accused has been identified as Dorepalli Chanti (30), a resident of Alwal village in Nalgonda district. Police confirmed that he had been targeting Anasuya on Instagram with personal abuse and highly objectionable content. According to the complaint, the harassment had been ongoing since December 2025.
Based on the complaint, the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police launched an investigation and tracked the accused using technical evidence before taking him into custody. A case has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 75, 79, 336(4), 351, and 356, along with provisions of the IT Act such as Section 66E for privacy violation and Section 67 for transmitting obscene content electronically. Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against those who post abusive or defamatory content online, warning that even fake accounts cannot escape legal consequences.
