Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has decided to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). This development has created political tension across the state. The controversy surrounding the notices issued over the past few days is likely to see clarity soon.
KCR, who is currently staying at his farmhouse in Erravalli, will reach his residence at Nandinagar in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on Sunday morning. As per rules, people above 65 years can be questioned at their residence and accordingly, KCR will be available to officials at his home. Before the SIT inquiry, he will meet his close aides and legal experts. He is also expected to hold discussions with former ministers KTR, Harish Rao and senior BRS leaders on future political steps.
After consulting his legal team on how to respond to official questions and the precautions to be taken, KCR will be available to SIT officials at 3 PM. BRS leaders and supporters have expressed anger over SIT officials pasting notices on the boundary wall of his residence late at night. By cooperating with the inquiry, KCR is believed to be aiming to give a strong response to the government and police. Ahead of the inquiry, leaders including MLC Shambhipur Raju, Karne Prabhakar, Talasani Saikiran Yadav and Manne Govardhan reviewed arrangements at Telangana Bhavan. Protesting against calling KCR for the SIT inquiry, the BRS has called for statewide protests and urged party workers to gather in large numbers at Telangana Bhavan.
