

Legendary Indian playback singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai. The news was confirmed by Maharashtra Cultural Minister Ashish Shelar. Her last rites will be held tomorrow at 4 PM at Shivaji Park. She had been admitted to a private hospital on Saturday evening due to a chest infection and exhaustion, as shared by her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle on social media.
Born in 1933 into the renowned Mangeshkar family, Asha Bhosle began her singing career at the age of nine. She recorded her first film song in 1943 and gained prominence in Hindi cinema by the 1950s.
Over a career spanning several decades, she worked with leading composers and became one of the most celebrated voices in Indian music history. Her passing marks a significant loss to the music industry.
