

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the SkillDination Challenge under the Skilling for AI Readiness (SOAR) program, an initiative by the Ministry of Skill Development. The launch took place at the Cultural Center in Rashtrapati Bhavan and simultaneously, she virtually inaugurated the IGNOU Regional Center and Skill Center in Rayagada, Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion, President Murmu highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence, stating, “AI is reshaping economies and societies worldwide. It is changing the way we learn, work, access modern services and solve problems. For a young country like India, AI is not just a technology; it is a tremendous opportunity.”
She emphasized that technology should benefit all citizens, be inclusive, and provide equitable opportunities. “AI must work towards reducing economic, technological, and social disparities and ensure that its benefits reach every section of society, particularly the marginalized and underprivileged,” she said. President Murmu also expressed delight at students preparing for a future full of opportunities and congratulated Members of Parliament who have completed AI learning modules.
