The Municipal Commissioner of Srikakulam, Kurma Rao, has been suspended for negligence in his duties that contributed to the spread of diarrhoea in the city. The government acted based on reports from senior officials after outbreaks of severe diarrhoea affected multiple areas, causing panic among residents.
As a result of the outbreak, 76 people were admitted to various hospitals. One person has died, and another is considered a suspicious death. The authorities are taking additional measures to control the situation and reassure the local population.
