A large number of devotees are flocking to the Maha Shivaratri Brahmotsavams at Srisailam. According to Nandyal District Collector and the District SP, this year the crowd is estimated to be four times higher than last year. Adequate arrangements, including safe drinking water, medical camps and temporary accommodation facilities, have been put in place for the devotees and at present, the darshan is proceeding smoothly.
Special arrangements have been made to ensure that devotees can receive the darshan of the deity without facing difficulties in the queues. Collector Rajakumari stated that approximately 1.5 lakh devotees are expected to participate on Maha Shivaratri day. The District SP also advised devotees not to believe any false rumors circulating during the festival.
With full police security in place, devotees are able to have a safe and secure darshan. However, on the second day of the Brahmotsavams, some minor issues arose as devotees had to wait a little longer in the queues, the District SP noted.
