The name of Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama appeared several times in the globally discussed Jeffrey Epstein files, leading to widespread speculation. According to documents recently released by the US Justice Department, the Dalai Lama’s name was mentioned in as many as 169 places, raising many doubts and questions. In response to this, the Dalai Lama has now issued a clear statement.
In a media release shared on X, he firmly stated that he has never met Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sexual crimes against women and minors. He rejected all allegations linking him to Epstein and said the references to his name in the files are completely baseless. The Dalai Lama also clarified that he never had any meetings with Epstein or his representatives at any time.
Reacting to recent news reports and social media posts that falsely claimed a meeting between the Dalai Lama and Epstein, the Dalai Lama’s office strongly objected to such content. It accused certain sections of spreading false information and urged the public not to believe misleading reports.
