

The Director General of Police stated that law and order in Telangana is fully under control, with a notable decline in crime during 2025. Compared to the previous year, overall crime in the state dropped by 2.33 percent.
Releasing the Telangana Police Annual Report–2025, the DGP said total registered cases reduced from 234,158 in 2024 to 228,969 in 2025. Cases registered under BNS provisions also declined by 1.45 percent.
The conviction rate showed a significant improvement, rising from 35.63 percent last year to 38.72 percent in 2025. Courts awarded death sentences in four cases, while life imprisonment was imposed on 320 accused in 216 cases.
Strict action was taken in POCSO cases, with life imprisonment awarded to 154 accused and death sentences in three cases. SC and ST Act cases also saw firm enforcement, resulting in life sentences for 53 accused.
The Telangana Police successfully managed major events such as Gram Panchayat elections, Miss World competitions, international football programs, and flood situations.
Cybercrime cases declined by 3 percent in Telangana, even as they rose nationally. Phone recovery rates remained among the highest in the country. Significant reductions were recorded in murders, rapes, robberies, and theft cases during the year.
