The recent victory in the Telangana Panchayat elections has instilled new enthusiasm in the Congress government. In this context, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with his cabinet colleagues and issued clear instructions to prepare for the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections, setting them as the next target. He advised the ministers to implement strategies at the grassroots level to secure all the Zilla Parishad seats.
Key decisions regarding reservations for local body elections are likely to be taken during the Telangana Assembly sessions, which will commence on December 29. The government is expected to bring the issue of 42 percent reservations for BC communities to the Assembly for discussion and pass a resolution. Information also suggests that clarity on the conduct of elections for Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) will likely emerge during these sessions.
The Chief Minister opined that the Sarpanches who won in the Panchayat elections form a strong foundation for the party at the village level. He instructed the ministers to hold meetings with the newly elected Sarpanches constituency-wise and involve them in the implementation of government schemes. CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the need to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past elections and to achieve complete dominance in the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections, leaving no room for the opposition.
