Union Minister Kishan Reddy stated that the Central Government is extending complete support for the development of the Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara. Speaking at a press meet held in Medaram, he revealed that the Centre has allocated special funds for the conduct of the upcoming Jatara. He emphasized that the development of Medaram, recognized as the largest tribal festival in the country, remains a priority for the Central Government.
Kishan Reddy recalled that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government played a key role in securing UNESCO World Heritage status for the Ramappa Temple for the first time, bringing international recognition to the culture and history of Telangana and both Telugu states.
He appreciated the State Government for undertaking new constructions and infrastructure development works in the Medaram region and conveyed the Central Government’s congratulations in this regard. He further stated that the establishment of a Tribal University in the Medaram area would significantly enhance education and employment opportunities for tribal youth. Emphasizing the importance of preserving tribal culture and traditions, Kishan Reddy affirmed that the Central Government remains committed to the holistic development of tribal communities.
