Panic prevailed once again at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad following a bomb threat. Airport authorities received an email from an unidentified person claiming that a bomb had been planted on a flight bound for the Netherlands.
Immediately after receiving the alert, security agencies swung into action. The aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing, and all passengers were safely evacuated. Bomb disposal squads and security teams carried out thorough checks of the entire aircraft.
Officials confirmed that no harm was caused and all passengers are safe. However, the incident created temporary tension at the airport. Authorities revealed that more than 20 bomb threat emails have been received by the Shamshabad airport this year alone. Although most of them turned out to be hoaxes, strict security protocols are being followed for every alert.
