As part of the Medaram Maha Jathara traditions, the maternal family of Sammakka offered the customary saree to the goddess ahead of the festival. Members of the Chanda clan, who consider Sammakka as their daughter, presented a saree along with flowers, fruits, turmeric, kumkum, and rice as part of the Aadapaduchu ritual at the Sammakka gaddhe. Chanda Baburao and his family from Bayyakkapeta village in Tadvai mandal visited Medaram and offered special prayers to the forest deities.
The Mandhe Meligey festival was conducted in a traditional manner by the priests before the Maha Jathara. After performing night-long prayers at the gaddhelu on Wednesday, the priests concluded the vigil before sunrise on Thursday and offered final prayers. They later returned to village temples with drum processions. Devotees lay on the ground before the priests, believing it would remove obstacles and bless childless couples with children. With the completion of Mandhe Meligey festival, the Medaram Maha Jathara will begin from January 28.
