In a major operation in Jagtial district, election officials seized ₹3.41 crore in unaccounted cash from a contractor during election enforcement drives. According to officials, the seizure was made after receiving credible information about suspicious money movement connected to election-related activities.
Authorities confirmed that the contractor could not provide valid documents for the cash. The seized money was immediately taken into custody and an investigation is underway to trace its source and intended purpose.
In addition, officials also intercepted ₹6.85 lakh worth of goods suspected to be distributed for influencing voters. With the elections approaching, enforcement agencies have intensified their checks to curb illegal cash flow and prevent voter bribery.
