The Telangana government has secured another major investment as part of its vision to develop the state into India’s leading AI data center hub. At Davos, the ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UPC Volt. During the visit, the Chief Minister held discussions with UPC Volt CEO Han de Groot, UPC Renewables APAC Co-founder Steven Zwaan, and UPC Renewables India CEO Alok Nigam.
As per the agreement, a 100 MW AI enabled data center will be established at Bharat Future City with an investment of ₹5,000 crore over the next five years. A dedicated 100 MW renewable power plant will also be set up to meet the energy requirements of the project. The initiative is expected to generate over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase, while an additional 800 employment opportunities will be created once the data center becomes operational.
