Rocking Star Yash’s upcoming pan-India film ‘Toxic’, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has received mixed reactions to its promotional material, teaser and trailer. Some viewers have criticised the film for allegedly portraying women inappropriately and for having elements of obscenity and patriarchy. Responding to these criticisms, Yash clarified that he has never promoted obscenity. He said even intimate scenes have certain boundaries and should be presented artistically.
Yash said ‘Toxic’ primarily explores the thoughts of young people, their conflicts with the older generation and their questions about traditional norms. He stressed that emotions play a crucial role in the film and expressed confidence that audiences will understand its focus on youth after watching it. The film marks Yash’s next release after the ‘KGF’ franchise and features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. Set against the backdrop of a drug mafia, ‘Toxic’ is scheduled to release on August 26.
