Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey opened up about the intense pressure and threats he faced around the release of ‘The Sabarmati Report’ during an appearance on the YouTube talk show ‘Shekhar Tonight’. The actor said he remains proud of being part of the film, which is set against the backdrop of the 2002 Godhra train incident. However, he revealed that he faced severe online trolling and threats at the time. According to Massey, cyber trolls leaked his WhatsApp number and car registration details online and openly threatened him.
Massey recalled being deeply concerned about his family’s safety, particularly because his son was only six months old at the time. He said the experience affected him mentally, but his perspective gradually changed. He realised that the opinions of people threatening him online mattered less than the safety and well-being of his family. The experience and change in priorities contributed to his decision to take a temporary break from acting in December 2024. He has since returned with the Netflix series ‘Musafir Cafe’ and is set to appear in a key role in the upcoming film ‘White’.
