The film Jananayagan, starring actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay, has reportedly faced unexpected hurdles at the censorship stage. Unlike some of his earlier projects that encountered release issues, this film progressed smoothly from production to completion. However, the censor certification has now become the main obstacle. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film was not expected to face such delays. Reports suggest that the timing of state elections, Vijay’s political involvement, and certain sensitive themes in the film may have contributed to the hold-up.
The movie has been awaiting certification for nearly six months since January, and the delay has now led to an unexpected leak online, shocking the team. Producer Venkat Narayanan is actively working to resolve the issue and has reportedly traveled to Delhi to meet senior censor board officials. The team is hopeful of receiving certification by the 19th of this month, which could pave the way for a possible theatrical release around the 25th. Fans of Vijay are eagerly waiting for an official announcement regarding the film’s release.
