Veteran actor Jagapathi Babu revealed that despite working on several films, he had been eagerly waiting for the release of ‘Peddi’. Speaking about his role as Appala Suri, the actor said he invested his heart and soul into the film and therefore has every right to expect recognition for his performance. He recalled that a leading filmmaker personally called him after watching the film and questioned why his performance was not receiving the appreciation it deserved. According to Jagapathi Babu, actors from other industries often receive greater recognition for similar roles, whereas local talent is sometimes overlooked.
The actor stated that he even asked director Buchi Babu why audiences and industry circles were not discussing his role despite receiving applause during the shoot. He expressed confidence that ‘Peddi’ would continue to earn greater appreciation over time and said everyone associated with the film would feel proud of the project. Jagapathi Babu also came out in support of actress Janhvi Kapoor, urging people not to troll artists personally. He emphasized that actors only perform according to a director’s vision and should not be subjected to personal attacks. Starring Ram Charan in the lead, ‘Peddi’ reportedly collected ₹236 crore within its first three days of release.
